Although, we have discussed several of Faith Community's problems, we have yet to address the one that can change the balance from success to failure. Even though our CEO and Facilitator implement positive methods and procedures, unenforced hospital polices and guidelines will null the entire problem solving process. The success and stability of any organization, business or family is based on a standard of conduct. The rules, guidelines and policies implemented at Faith Community Hospital are in place for the protection of the employees and patients alike. Theses policies provide a guideline of professional morals and ethics that establish order and balance. Without order you have chaos. Therefore, the success of any plan implemented will rely on the abilities of the CEO and administrative staff to enforce Faith Community's polices to the point that those who refuse or are unwilling to follow will face disciplinary action and/or termination.
In Summary, the realization by Pat that Faith Community Hospital was in critical condition requiring immediate action was the first step to a positive decision making and problem solving process. Although, Chris's abilities as a leader are questionable, she does possess commitment and seems to realize that "the ability to solve problems quickly depends on our experience with the situation and our willingness to look at the facts.
