NRSRN 2001: "In Order to Improve Health in the Primary Care Setting You Need to Work Collaboratively with Others"

As a result of this placement I have an increased appreciation and awareness of the many health professionals' roles and areas of expertise. I have gained a vast amount of knowledge and understanding of collaborative working in the community. I have been a part of a team of district nurses who provide high quality care and recognise the changing needs of patients. It is my opinion that their practice makes the best use of resources available to promote health.
In conclusion I feel collaboration has developed an effective way to meet demand in response to the public's health as it centres patients' care as priority. It builds public confidence and upholds professional standards (NMC 2002). I think collaboration can enhance and positively influence the teams of the future, ensuring that needs of individuals can be met effectively and quickly.
