Four of the five people who developed inhalation anthrax died (Swenson 3)." No cases of inhalation anthrax occurred in anthrax vaccine recipients. Based upon a comparison between the anthrax vaccine and placebo recipients, the authors calculated a vaccine efficacy level of 92.5 percent.
Anthrax can be a fatal disease and although we do not have a cure there is a vaccine available and many treatments available that can also be highly effective, but generally only in early stages of detection.
