Society and teenagers would benefit from having the opportunity to obtain birth control or information on Planned Parenthood in high schools. There are many advantages to having this kind of information available teenagers who are going to have sex. I know as a parent myself I would feel better knowing if my teenager was going to have sex she would have protection available to her without the embarrassment. I would prefer abstinence for her because it is the best and safest policy, but it is sadly said, this is becoming more rarely used and I can not control her body when she is out of my reach. I have read in a pamphlet at Kaiser Permanente that the fact that more than half of the American teenagers have had sex. This scares me and this should be a wake up call for society and other parents to be constantly reminding teens of safe sex. The more that society and parents can do to contribute to safe sex the better our children will be. Together we would be lowering teenage pregnancy, STDs and just plainly saving a life. I have to say again I do not want my child to have sex but rather I like it or not it is part of life. …
