Biomes embody the interconnectedness between climate and vegetation. Latitude is a big factor in determining climate regions because different latitudes cause different climates. The sun shines down onto the equator, so the closer you get to it, the warmer it gets. For example, areas in the low latitudes are hot and very dry, while in the high latitudes, the climate can be freezing all year. In highland climates, it's cold depending on the climate.
