Jubilee 2000

The formation of Jubilee 2000 was marked by the All African Council Of Churches in 1990 who "called for a Year of Jubilee to cancel Africa's debts". (9)
Jubilee 2000 is a global movement concerned with the 100% "one off cancellation of the unpayable debts of the world's poorest countries by the end of 2000, under a fair and transparent process"(1). From this it can be seen to be a radical movement that comprises of 65 countries committed to this cause.
