Conclusion
After all, no doubt, that movies offer many advantages to the learners since movies present language in a way that is more natural than in the course-books. It provides teachers and learners with creative and practical ideas. Videos enable teachers to meet several needs and interests of their learners.
To sum up all the information, watching movies have a lot of positive values. Firstly, they are interesting, enjoyable and motivating for students. Students pay attention and are more enthusiastic about the lesson. Secondly, it provides good listening practice by listening authentic language. Students can listen and understand better English intonation (stress, tones, speed) Furthermore, movies help learners to visualize words as well as meanings. Watching movies provide learners with a lot of language practise, which develop different kind of skills especially listening and speaking. That is more, they improve learners’ visual and critical awareness. Movies also may develop communicative competence through using discussion inside classroom; with movies teachers can teach vocabulary, writing and listening comprehensions.
However, the main key is that using films effectively mainly lies in the teacher’s ability to prepare students to receive the film’s message.
Actually, watching a film in class always a pleasurable and relaxing activity for learners because that it provides students with real-life and authentic English, and makes learning more successful.
In our opinion, in this folder there is also a good collection with valuable resources and websites where to find useful educational videos, for example, YouTube. Moreover, there are a lot of different described follow-up activities teachers can use in their lessons. Folder also contains one described movie lesson example. We think, it is really necessary to see the real example, how it may be using videos in their groups.
In our future work we will, definitely, use videos materials in order to give as much as possible knowledge to our students in the entertaining and more motivating way.
In conclusion we would like to say that this material is a good guide for teachers, who would like to start using movies at the lesson. But it is just the beginning for a bigger research of using video materials at the lesson. Some of unanswered questions have left, for instance, what kind of disadvantages and problems may be and rise using movies etc.
