Time played a substantial role in Josie's transformation in some areas but less in others. The most obvious example in how time was a significant factor, is Josie's change in perspective towards her ethnic background. There isn't a "moment" that her perspective suddenly changes in (like in her father's case), but it is more gradual and discreet.
After a close study of how change in perspective is portrayed by different composers, all utilising a range of different techniques, it can be said that the way a change is portrayed, plays a pivotal role in how the respondent, responds to the document. "The world is constantly changing," and a change in perspective is a result of many factors. A perspective can evolve slowly over time, in an instant or as a result of taking a risk and "opening the door." Regardless of how the change is brought about, or how composers portray the change, it can be concluded that change will mostly lead to a positive outcome, or at least "a draught." (The Door, Miroslav Holub).
