The Purpose of Education

I believe this because the one class that actually prepares you for life after school is an elective class. This class is Jobs for Baystate Graduates (JBSG), similar to Nichols College's PDS. After graduating from high school I realized that, with the exception of JBSG, English, and maybe one year of Mathematics school does not offer any practical information. College is completely different from High School. Every course you take offers solely practical information, to be used at one point in your life. This is unfortunate because you cannot attend college unless you do well in high school. I believe that many people that have dropped out of high school, or been expelled, would be able to excel in college and therefore excel in life. I believe the purpose of high school is to make sure adolescents stay out of trouble. I believe the purpose of college is, what Mann and Dewey dreamed would one day be the purpose of high school, preparation for the rest of your lives.…
