Text Analysis
Summary
The article is called “Among the Buffet virgins” and it is about Berkshire Hathaway's annual shareholder meeting. It is published in April 30th 2011, 14:18 by M.B. | OMAHA. The controlling idea of the text is the reflection of how Berkshire Hathaway’s annual shareholder meeting happens and how it is seen from different point of views. The author describes participants of this event as very various by their appearances but with one common aim – to make money. Some of them are so passionate about those meetings that wakes up at 5am just to get good places at the Qwest Arena which is crowded with about 40 000 people. Author says that before the real meeting there had been pre-meetings with Mr Buffet and Bill Gates who owns the major part of Berkshire Hathaway’s shares. The overall image of all of this is not so good and even more doubtful because of the scandalous departure of David Sokol, one of Mr Buffets successors. The author ends his article with announcing Q&A part that will follow after the meeting and leaves the open question about why all enterprises doesn’t hold meetings like this as they are so lively and interesting.
