Nowadays translating is very important to society, because we all want to know and understand what happens round the world. People need translation to understand the broadcast, culture features, music, business and other important issues to society. In general, translator (“translator” as “he”) has to have at least basic knowledge in most fields: business, literature, sports, architecture, chemistry, science etc. I think that translator who is practiced in one particular field is better than the translator who knows a little in every field. If translator knows all about the one particular field, he will not have problems of doing his job. Surely, it takes less time. But, if translator works in many fields, he is busier and it takes a lot of time to do his job. I am going to talk about translating different types of text: poetry, plays, advertisements and also newspaper articles. So that I could separate translation difficulties translator may face.
If translator wants to translate a poem, he must be more or less talented in writing poems, because not everyone can think in artistic way. However, translating poetry is very serious work and translator can not do the translation casually. He can not just translate word-by-word and think that the translation is successful. Translating a poem is like writing a poem yourself. There is the necessity of knowing what the translator wants to say. Translating poems into another language is the way how to share culture. I made some research in translating poetry and get some tips, how to get a better translation of a poem. …
