In conclusion, in case of social anxiety, social life is almost impossible or associated with fear and unpleasant feelings. The British Psychological Society (2000) describes Generalized anxiety, panic, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and Obsessive-Compulsive disorder to share common traits, such as excessive intrusive thoughts and anxiety in situations where a non-suffering person would not experience them. Physical symptoms are like a response for real threat situations. A flight-or-flight response creates a situation where the body reacts un a heightened state of activity and it becomes difficult to control thoughts.
These disorders are lasting disorders that are very debilitating to the person suffering from them. The known treatments available vary from meditation to cognitive behavioural therapy, which is more helpful for social phobias and anxiety. The treatment involves modifying and eliminating existing troublesome thoughts that have lead to the phobias and anxiety in the first place. …
