The book would mainly be focused on teenagers in the ranges of 14 - 17 year olds since teenagers would probably face these kinds of events in their lives. It also has popular culture that the teens would appeal to, like clothes, the music and the everyday life both Rosie and Asher face, so they would recognize the other teens in this book as realistic. It would appeal to teenagers because Brigid uses colloquial language that they would use.
They may appreciate that the book describes areas that the teenagers may like to visit or travel when they finish school; they're type of get away or escape from parents, away from their demands and comments. I like how Brigid cuts each of the pages into chapter like sectors so it's kind of like a movie where there are different scenes to a story. The blurb is quite interesting because it might request the attention of teenager's dirty humour.
Intertextuality is the procedure of using bits of other texts or extracts and using it as your own, for example Lowry has used a few paragraphs From Living With Teenagers. This effect is used to refine the story or give it more meaning, " they need to take risks and make their own decisions, they will resist dependency " so it gives meaning to when Rosie is about to smoke marijuana for the first time, she is taking a risk, becoming
independent and gaining identity.…
