William Shakespeare

William Shakespeare was born in Stratford-upon-Avon in April 23, 1564. His father, John Shakespeare, was a citizen of some prominence who became and alderman and bailiff, but who later suffered financial difficulties. Shakespeare presumably attended the Stratford grammar school, where he could have acquired a respectable knowledge of Latin, but after that he
did not continue his education. There are legends about Shakespeare's youth, but there are actually no documented facts. The first record of Shakespeare's life after his christening is that of his marriage to Anne Hathaway in 1582.
