As time passes by, boys would understand that their dreams were ridiculous, so they would move on to their future. However, not everyone can achieve his or her goal. Those who fail to achieve might choose to live in the past rather than move on to their future. Just like Gatsby, who chooses to live in his past love with Daisy rather than moving on to his bright future. As a result, Gatsby is hopelessly romantic.
