For the most part, we as human beings try very hard everyday to live by a moral set of standards that we have set for ourselves. This code of ethics determines how we live our lives, as well as what decisions we make everyday. These things play such a large role that when we come up against important issues in our lives we turn to our own personal moral rules for the answer. We are questioned with whether or not we should live for the time at hand and act out of our own personal gratifications, or rather to look at the long term effects and how our actions will impact others as well as ourselves. Often times when we look at the views of philosophy, we only take them at face value. As a result, we fail to assess their true meanings and apply them to real life situations. There have been several concerns and controversies on making good decisions and judgments. Possibly one of the most controversial issues facing the human race today is the issue of a physician assisted suicide.…
