Great athletes also reflect a group of highly related abilities. Being a great athlete does not consist of just being able to run fast, or just being able to throw a ball exceptionally far. Being a great athlete is a massive combination of genetic traits, some of which are still unidentifiable. Take for example the twelve year old who could hit the ball better than the other child could. One must account for the speed of the limb, multi-limb coordination, lower body strength, balance, finger dexterity, tricep strength, bicep mass, aiming, agility, vision etc. The child who could hit better in the experiment would probably share more of these qualities than the other child would. The reason that gifted athletes are gifted in specific areas is because they have a great number of traits that could make them potential athletes. When someone realizes that they have a large number of these traits, they will obviously try to utilize and combine those skills, which results in what we recognize as being a great athlete. …
