Now I am going to tell you about my attitude to the Olympic Games. The world’s greatest international sports games are known as the Olympic Games. Acording to many, friendship and peace – these are the goals of international sport events. This idea that sport should bring the nations of the world together has been emphasized ever since Baron Pierre de Coubertin founded the modern Olympic Games in 1896.
Long ago all wars were stopped by special heralds who rode in all directions of Greece. Nowadays when Olympic Movement begins all people try to forget any feuds between the nations and to feel keenly full of emotions Olympic atmosphere. Unfortunately, history shows that most countries have consistently and intentionally used Olympic Games to pursue their own national interests rather than the goals of international communication, understanding and peace, so this is especially the case for the superpowers in the international political arena. …
