A war against terrorism was waged and eventually resulted in the liberation of Afghanistan.
<Tab/>The assassination of President Abraham Lincoln in April 1865 was a turning point in American history. The first presidential assassination, the murder of Abraham Lincoln was a product of the hatred and the violence that had plagued the United States for decades over the issue of slavery. This hostility climaxed in the Civil War, and Lincoln was the final and most famous casualty of that conflict. Although this is true, the events of September 11, because they took many more lives and condescended directly upon the public, will more widely be remembered not only in the united states but around the world. Many more changes were made after 9.11 than after the presidential assassination. Today the government hopes to intercept any future attacks on the American people; we will just have to wait and see.
