On April 13, 1743 in Albermate, Virginia, one of the most phenomenal presidents was born. Thomas Jefferson did so much for America that he is often taken for granted and also overshadowed. His father was a planter and surveyor and his mother had a high social standing. Throughout his life he was a mediocre student and he studied at the College of William and Mary; he studied law. In 1772 he married Martha Wayles Skelton. They lived in Jefferson's infamous house, Monticello.
