The main goal that the Council for Aboriginal Reconciliation is trying to achieve for the future is that Aboriginals, Torres Strait Islanders and white Australians alike to share a future together. They are also looking to have Aboriginal representation in parliament which represents the Aboriginals and Torres Strait Islanders want to happen to the country, instead of just the white Australians choosing how the country is run.
As Kim Beazley stated in 1997 "We cannot rewrite history, but we can shape the future". This is what Council for Aboriginal Reconciliation goal is. Not to change the way things were in the past but change the things in the present for a better future. With their strategies shown above they are trying to make a better future where Aboriginals, Torres Strait Islanders and white Australians all live together equally and in harmony.
