Bearing in mind that the clergy was mainly made up of nobility, it is easy to see how the two first estates could easily outvote the Third Estate. This unfairness contributed to social unrest, as the common people became discontented with the privileged classes.
It's clear that these political and social tensions, further increased with revolutionary ideas and with France's financial difficulties, were the main causes for the French Revolution as the hungry Parisians, who suffered from bad harvest, burst out their anger by attacking the Bastille, thus starting the revolution which soon would spread all over France.
