The Rise and Fall: Reflections II Arcade

Everything wasn't always grandeur, though. Working long, hard hours was exhausting, especially in the height of the summer, when leisure and vacationing were enticing. Located on the Jersey shore, Mother Nature proved to be a threat. The experience of two horrific storms and not having flood insurance that cost $25,000 proved to be financially destructive. Rich's resolution was again hard work and dedication. After the Nor'easter of 1992, his family and he spent three solid months of 15 hour days 7 days a week in the arcade, cleaning and rebuilding. Incredibly, by Easter they were ready for business, and the doors opened on time. But the ultimate adversity that proved to be the doom on the Reflections II Arcade was devastating. Many questions arose regarding how the city of Brigantine could conveniently and repeatedly lose the mercantile and amusement licenses that were to be forwarded to the state for issuance.
