Colonists in America
(1600-1700)
At the end of 16 century many English, French and Dutch emigrants departed
to the North America, so they wanted to find gold and silver, still they don’t find
it. They have to maintain themselves, to grow tobacco, indigo plants and other
cultivated plants, which they can to sale in Europe. Part of settlers was
puritans, who wanted to start new life, intact from religious pursuit in
motherland. Other tried one’s luck in trade. In plantations worked slaves and
farmhands. From beginning, relations with American native inhabitants were
friendly. Hospitable Indians helped settlers to tend soil and plants, and
expanded exchange trade.
