I chose to write about the Niagara movement of 1905 due to the importance of this conference that was brought down by personal tensions between, W.E.B Du Bois and Booker T. Washington. Assembled at the annual meeting in Buffalo New York on July 11th, 12th, and 13th. The invitation by W.E.B Du Bois and a group of socially conscious black intellectuals and leaders gathered together in Niagara Falls, many who were motivated there opposed the views of booker T. Washington. The movement represented the growing voices of black America. Washington influences within major groups, newspapers, churches, colleges, to help undermine the purpose of this conference. Also tensions were building between Du Bois and Trotter.…
