She binds them with Ranna, and ends up with two cats one white and the other black (one Mogget and the other Kerrigor). She was dying but is pushed back to Life by the spirits of the other Abhorsens. Sabriel is the hero of this story and Kerrigor is the evil villain. And her mission was to destroy Kerrigor like all the Abhorsens before her since the breaking of the Great Stones.
4. What roles do the humans in the novel play?
Humans are the main race which lives in both Kingdoms. Sabriel is a human as well and she is the main character and hero of the novel. Her father Abhorsen and Touchstone the last left of the royal family are both humans. Kerrigor was a human but converted to evil ways. Most parts of the fantasy worlds are inhabited by humans. The main difference is that humans can have magical powers and abilities. It is how our world would be if we had magic.
