Communication; the Media: Role of the Intranet

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
This report tried to analyse the use of intranet on John Deer Pty Ltd and the impact of it on information use.
Due to different nature of organisations, there are several ways to build a succesful intranet. However the most common characteristics of thriving intranets architectures are: integrating information design with business planning, help the employees to use it effectively by using different techniques, think about tasks rather than documents, organise tasks into larger processes and last but not least create virtual workgroups organised around processes.
