Summary
I have read an article called “How Social Networking Works” by Steven J. Vaughan-Nichols.
The main idea of the article is to give an overview of how social networking works.
The author starts the first part of the article with some statistics. He gives us information about the percentage of social network users from different age groups. He also points out that social networks continue to grow. Nichols states that almost all social networks are based on open-source software, however, it does not mean the software is available to any user. He also mentions some examples.
In the second part of the article the author explains how social networks are built. He brings our attention to the fact that social network owners do not want to share all information about their networks.
