Unfortunately, as always, there are downsides this process of uniting our world. So much talk about labour market, but the unpleasant side effect of the globalization is that job security becomes impossible and globalization increases competition for already scarce jobs. In Latvia you can come across the problem of lack of experience, to get a job you have to have experience, and no one wants you without it, so we become locked down in this vicious circle.
Another side effect to the plus of globalization I have already mentioned, is because of removed barriers, a huge percent of people is leaving the country in search of a better life and as a result of this huge emigration wave from Latvia, those who are left here in the near future will have to pay huge taxes to support the social insurance system.
…
In fewer words globalization is the growth of something to a global or worldwide scale. Since globalization happens in all of the world and influences everything, we and our country are no exception, so today I am going to talk about the globalization in Latvia. Our country has put a step on the globalization path as soon as it retrieved its independence. As a part of USSR, our country has had the experience of being a part of one united system, so the globalization is not that hard on people and country in general, because basically, it is the same as being part of the USSR, only being a part of something bigger, something greater, something more massive, being a part of the united world. So what is in it for us to explore, to enjoy, to use, to take and to give?
