Karlis Ulmanis is one of the most important Latvians in XX century. Many people can’t decide if he was a good or bad character in Latvian history but I think he was definitely a good person who spent all his life to make Latvia a better place to live. Karlis Ulmanis- fascist dictator of Latvia. You can read the phrase in all the Latvian history books that were published while Latvia was in USSR. The reason is that Karlis Ulmanis made subversion in Latvia (May 15th, 1934) and the result was that he made an authoritative regime with one leader- Prime Minister. “But in West that meant that Latvia after sixteen years stop to be a country with her own rules.” (2). …
