SOCIOLOGICAL THEORY’S
Functionalism – considers prostitution as a social problem.
Kingsly David (investigating prostitution) draws attention instead to why women become prostitutes, but why not return to her normal life. The return is not so much related with the remuneration of labor, skills, capital, how – these women have lost their social status, they lose their dignity in society, if engaged in this kind of busines.

INTERACTIONISM – focus on everyday social interaction between individuals rather than large public structures. A social problem exists when the social conditions affecting a group values. Prostitutes in society has it’s own definition of the situation.
