Learning about the spiritual world of a man was one of the main aspects of the American romanticism literature, which was the basis of the American literature at all. That is why the role of it was very significant. It included all the necessary components for forming itself – conceptions of morality, criteria, ideals, taste and custom changes, which were making up the spiritual life of a man.
Romanticism writers and poets were not satisfied with the political results, and most of them were disappointed with the bourgeoisie revolution (1776-1784), that is why they started paying their attention to spiritual values, besides the feelings of a man – love, hatred, mutual confidence and his attitude towards universal things – were of a considerable importance. Man in romanticism was viewed upon as a mature creature with his steady viewpoints, developing in their procession, and with the various emotions.…
