There are many leaders who promoted equality for African- Americans. Two most notable leaders of the Civil Rights Movement include Martin Luther King Jr. and Malcolm X. The Civil Rights Movement in the United States was a political, legal, and social struggle by black Americans to gain full citizenship rights and to achieve racial equality.
