What I didn’t like was probably that the author opened the story with Enzo already being old and sick and re-telling his life. I just couldn’t escape the thought that I would have to cope with him dying at some point of the story, since I’m not that fond of any character dying in the story, ever.
I am a dog owner and perhaps after reading the book I might have started to look at my pet with a lot more understanding. It's hard to deny the fact that dog is man's best friend. A dog’s loyalty and the desire to be loved is unlike human love. It’s not selfish. It is the desire to give and receive in return. I believe that this book is dedicated to anyone who has ever looked into a dog’s beautiful brown eyes and seen an ancient wisdom of the soul.
