Aldous Huxley (1894-1963) was an English critic and novelist. He was best known for his novel” Brave New World” that was published in 1932. Even though” Brave New World” is now considered a classic, the book was criticized for a weak plot and characterization in the beginning. Besides different novels, the author wrote also poems, plays, travel books, histories, and essays on arts, religion, morals, society, and philosophy.
Encyclopedia of Death and Dying defines: “Dehumanization is the process of stripping away human qualities, such as denying others their individuality and self-esteem. The dehumanizing aspects of health care mainly deal with the loss or diminishment of four basic human qualities: the inherent worth in being human, the uniqueness of the individual, the freedom to act and the ability to make decisions, and the equality of status.” [1]
