I’ve chosen to speak about Latvia in 17th century when in Kurzeme and Zemgale the Duke of Courland ruled - Duke Jacob, Vidzeme was under the rule of Swedish king and Latgale was called the Polish Vidzeme, because it was under the rule of Poland.

Health
Towns were small and overcrowded, and very dirty because there was no drainage and all the dirt stayed on streets. This is one of the reasons why there were different illnesses and people’s lifespan wasn’t long, and a lot of children died very young because there was no good medicine as we have nowadays, of course.…
