Already the title of the film is controversial and indicates that it is not about fulfilling dreams. According to Cambridge University Dictionary requiem is music written for Christian ceremony where people pray for a dead person. Film is a requiem for dead dreams.
It has five parts – introduction, first act, second act, third act and ending. Story structure can be explained using river metaphor – it is a linear story that takes place from summer to winter. Act 1 is called Summer, act 2 – Autumn and act 3 – Winter. It is done intentionally – in the first act, in summer, main characters have their dreams and it seems that everything is going to be alright for them. In the second act – autumn - there are indications of some problems, but in the third act – winter – it is clear that the dreams of main characters will not come true.
Protagonist in this film is a widow Sara, she has a son - drugs addict Harry. In the opening scene Harry takes mother’s TV set and takes it to the junk market in order to get money for drugs.…
