The genetic code is the information held in DNA which determines the sequence of amino acids of the proteins which the cell manufactures. The information exists in base sequences in the DNA. There are four letters in the base code alphabet as I spoke about before. They code for all twenty amino acids which will be binded together to produce proteins. They are set out in triplets (codons) which code for specific amino acids. This triplet code was proved by Crick's frame-shift experiment. The code in DNA is redundant because there are more codes than amino acids, it is degenerate and contains no gaps. To mark the end of a protein code, there are stop codons placed.…
