This struggle against terrorism may last a generation. But we mustn’t get scared.
They took an idea and turned it into a plan for political and religious power. But we can take a better idea and turn it against them. Fighting for our common ideals of liberty, tolerance and democratic freedom has won us victory before. And I believe that, if we can rally(unite) behind these ideals again, we can defeat terrorism. Innocent people don’t have to die. We can save them. We will save them.
