At the end of D-Day, over 156,000 troops and 10,000 ships had arrived in Normandy to secure it. Many lives were lost in this invasion, mostly Americans on Omaha Beach. Normandy's land was basically destroyed after the invasion of the allies. But now, France has fixed up Normandy very nice and now it hardly looks like there was a big invasion there except for some craters left by mines, bombs, and grenades. Normandy has built a cemetery with the bodies of nearly 10,000 people. The Germans have the hardest memories but some of the German veterans still have pride in fighting for their country. A lot of people have recovered from this day but family members of those who died still have this horrible day in their memories and so do the survivors of this destructive invasion known as D-Day.…
