What - A trial where some members of the Ku Klux Klan in Missisippi were charged for the killings of three civil rights activists(James Chaney, Michael Schwerner and Andrew Goodman).
When - The trial took place in October 1967, but some men were prosecuted later as well. For example one of the ringleaders: Edgar Ray Killen, who was found guilty on three counts of manslaughter on June 21, 2005, and was sentenced to a maximum of 60 years in prison.
