Russian culture is one that is rich and colorful. They have a rich cuisine. Russian art is considered by some to be very interesting and unique. Russians are also known for their sense of humor. Literature was greatly influential to world literature. Russians also gave the classical music world some very famous composers. A Matryoshka doll (Cyrillic матрёшка or матрешка) is a Russian nesting doll. A set of Matryoshka dolls consists of a wooden figure which can be pulled apart to reveal another figure of the same sort inside. It has in turn another figure inside, and so on. Chastushka (частушка), a type of traditional Russian poetry, is a single quatrain in trochaic tetrameter with an "abab" or "abcb" rhyme scheme.

Usually humorous, satirical, or ironic in nature, chastushkas are often put to music as well, usually with balalaika or accordion accompaniment. The rigid, short structure (and to a lesser degree, the type of humor these use) parallels limericks. The name originates from the Russian word части́ть, meaning "to speak fast.”
If we are talking about thing what have latvians taken over from Russia, I thin I can most definetely say that it is language and expressions. And maybe the way how people are dressed. You know – skinheads, urlas :D ... Russias influence to Latvia is that big maybe because Latvia many years were subordinate by Russia. When I or Liene go out it just can’t be that we don’t meet any russian. We are not those people who ussually discriminates others, but we think that in Latvia must live moslty latvians not some else nationality.
