<Tab/>Frankenstein, by Mary Shelly includes many lessons that apply not only to life in the seventeenth century, but to the lives we live today. One of the main themes that remain prevalent to today's society is the lesson we learn from the way people react toward the monster. Society has set standards for human existence. Those who don't fall within the boundaries of this criterion are rejected and forced to live a life of solitude. The monster due to his grotesque appearance fell victim this standard from which his loneliness stemmed, on setting his murderous way.
