Perhaps it was for the best that he leave the world now, instead of perhaps 5 years later in a retirement village from where he could not gather joy and happiness. This is my home, Adrian thought. It won't be too bad to die here- it is wonderfully peaceful here.
Tears welled up to his eyes. Adrian just couldn't bear not being at his cosy home- the breeding ground of so many fond and cheerful memories. Adrian slowed his breathing, tried to relax, and focused on all the good times that Melui valley had been home to- watching the beautiful blood red sunsets, inhaling the fresh, morning air, and enjoying natural beauty surrounding his small cottage.
It all seemed so far away now even though Adrian knew that his beloved home was probably just a hundred metres below him.
Adrian sighed once more and yielded to the inevitable doom looming before him.
