Zest then looked straight in his eyes, but he couldn’t sense any form of regret within them. He proceeded to beat him up, until he was sure that Diego wasn’t breathing. ‘’That serves you right’’, Zest sounded relieved. But he wasn’t. He was quietly sobbing to himself. Zest’s heart was clenched because of the unbearable pain. Not only did his so-called ‘’partner’’ Diego betray him, he also lost every single one of his accomplices because of him.
The very next day Zest received a call from the same man that had given him the task to kill Ivan. ‘’What do you want?’’Zest sounded pissed. ‘’I see that you’ve handled the situation thoroughly, Mr. Zest’’, the man answered. ‘’Right…’’, Zest mumbled, ‘’...but at what cost?’’. He hung up. Zest had learned a very good lesson yesterday - never trust anyone. And so he decided that from now on, he will be working alone. He will pursue his next missions all alone.
