Transezofageālo ehokardiogrāfiju (TEE) - sirds izmeklēšana caur barības vadu ar ultraskaņas palīdzību, izmantojot endoskopisku zondi.
Ļauj precīzāk vizualizēt sirds anatomiju, morfoloģiju un struktūras, kas standarta ehokardiogrāfijā nav pietiekami labi izvērtējamas.
Izmeklējumu veic, izmantojot speciālu elastīgu zondi, ko ievada barības vadā.  Izmeklējums notiek bez narkozes, taču sākotnēji pacientam rīklē tiek iesmidzināts atsāpinošs līdzeklis, lai būtu vieglāk norīt zondi. Pēc tam zonde uzmanīgi tiek ievadīta barības vadā.
Izmeklējums ilgst apmēram 20 – 30 min.…
