Atticus Finch describes courage as "knowing licked before you begin but you begin anyway and you see it through no matter what." There are two people in Macomb that I believe fulfill Atticuses description of courage. The two people are Miss Maudie and Mrs. Dubose.
I believe that Miss Maudie has revealed a tremendous amount of courage. This is exposed when her house, garden, and most of her belongings are burnt to the ground and she shows no sign of grief. I feel that this shows she is very courageous in the way that she has no house, nowhere to live, and doesn't care. …
