CILVĒKU DARBĪBA
Arktisko tuksnešu un tundras zonas ir reti apdzīvotas. Kopš seniem laikiem tur dzīvo eskimosi jeb inuīti. Viņi nodarbojas ar zvejniecību, roņu un kažokzvēru medībām. Iedzīvotāji nodarbojas arī ar briežkopību.

Vasarā atkūst tikai augšējā kārta, dziļākie slāņi- sākot no 25-90 centimetru dziļuma- nekad neatkūst (Mūžīgais sasalums).
