Extract

Her viciousness knows no bounds, so much so that she tells Macbeth she would have rather removed her suckling child from her breast and smashed his brains out, rather than to have broken her promise. In other words she taunts his manlihood, tries to goad him into doing what she wants.
Lady Macbeth has been portrayed to be a murderous, ambitious woman who will spare no means to get what she wants. And, Macbeth on the other hand is a weak man who is unable to stand up for his own beliefs and is thus as much to blame for the crime as Lady Macbeth. While she is the schemer, Macbeth is the perpetrator of the crime.
