To me, he has always been a frozen man, imposing a highly mannered life upon himself, and us. Just as an example, everyday before dinner commences, he would look about, over each of us, and then unfold a napkin to allow the meal, in the same town where probably all of the men sat to eat of a hot evening without a shirt. Even when he went to RSL alone to get drunk, he had been known to wear a carefully considered tie.
